🌟 Welcome to Week 4 of the Change Reflection Series

ā¤ļø A space where your heart and your mind can connect.Ā

This week, we’re reflecting on the ways pain—both productive and unproductive—shapes our lives and influences our ability to grow.

Yesterday, we reflected on whether there’s any pain in our lives that keeps us stuck.

Over the next two days, we’ll shift our focus to the internal maps and past experiences that shape our decisions and beliefs.

šŸ“ Sometimes, what keeps us stuck isn’t external circumstances—it’s the internal maps we follow. Shaped by past experiences, these mental models can lead us to tolerate pain, avoid change, or cling to unhelpful beliefs.

In this week’s article, I’ve shared some common internal maps Dr. Henry Cloud identifies, like having an abnormally high pain threshold, covering for others, or believing that endings mean failure.

These aren’t the only patterns—you may have developed others. Recognizing these patterns is the first step to breaking free.

šŸ’ Take a moment to reflect:

  • What internal maps do you recognize in your own life that stop you from making necessary endings?

  • 🌟 How would things change if you gave yourself permission to stop accepting these patterns or beliefs? 🌱

  • What possibilities could letting go open up for you?
